Invalid serial number
When an "Invalid Serial Number" message appears, you can re-enter the serial number and re-try the installation. Before you do, double-check the serial number for errors. The letter "I" can easily be mistaken for the number 1 (one) or a lower case "L", and zero can just as easily be mistaken for the letter "O". The best way to avoid entering an invalid serial number is to copy and paste it into the appropriate location, rather than typing it character by character.
Communication error
When a "Communication Error" message appears, the software may be having problems verifying the serial number. This is most often due to a firewall program blocking the serial number verification process. If a firewall is running, you need to check the firewall settings and try again. If problems continue, you might have to disable the firewall momentarily while the software is activated.
No internet connection detected
A "No internet Connection Detected" message appears when there is either a problem connecting to the internet or the setting for the proxy is invalid. When communication fails (due to invalid proxy settings or the machine not being properly connected to the internet), you will be prompted to configure the proxy settings and/or check the internet connection. Note that if you are connected to the internet through a proxy, the ISP or System Administrator will have to be contacted to configure the proxy settings. If you click Cancel, the Proxy Error message will reappear. When you click Next, communication with the server will be attempted again with the machine properly connected to the internet or the new proxy settings that you have provided.
There was a problem accessing a file on your system
A message may appear that says "There was a problem accessing a file on your system". In order to install new software on any operating system, you need to be logged in to the computer with full administrator privileges and write privileges to C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/. Verify that your user account belongs to the administrator group and try the activation again.
System error
The "System Error" message is not as common as the others and indicates that an unusual error is occurring. Please contact us for help.
