What is registration and why do publishers use it?

Registration is a common marketing tool that software publishers use to collect and store contact information from potential customers. It is often used with free downloads that allow you to try a product before you purchase it.

During registration, contact information specified by the publisher, such as name, address, and email address, is collected from you, the end user installing the product. The process is quick and simple.

What happens to the information I provide during registration?

The information collected belongs to the publisher. Protexis stores it in a secure data center for publishers, but we do not use it, rent it, sell it or share with anyone other than the publisher. If you would like more information, please visit our privacy policy or contact the software publisher for information on their privacy policy.

Can I bypass registration and install the product anyway?

Not always. Some publishers make registration optional, but often the only way to use a product with registration services is to complete the registration process.
