I don't like to use my credit card to make purchases online. What options do I have?

Credit cards are one of the fastest ways to make purchases online; most software publishers accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and Diners Club. Some publishers do offer other payment methods, for example debit or bank card payments. You will see your options when you start the payment process and land on the publisher's payment page.

How safe is buying online?

Protexis is committed to making your online purchase safe as well as easy. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol and industry standard encryption. This creates a secure connection, which means that only the recipient can read the contents of the message. No one else can see your credit card number, name or other private information that is being sent during the payment process.

You can tell you are on a protected page if the URL in the address line starts with "https:" – the "s" stands for "secure". Or you can look for the gold closed-lock icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser window.

Protexis advocates safe purchasing practices and encourages you to protect yourself online by looking for the signs of a protected page and using sites you trust, like the ones powered by Protexis.

Who is Protexis and why are you showing up on my credit card statement?

Protexis processes online purchase transactions for software publishers. If you have recently purchased software online, the charge may appear as Protexis on your monthly credit card statement. Before requesting a credit or refund, you might want to check with anyone else who has access to your card to see if they have made any recent online purchases.

If you have not purchased any software and would like to dispute the charge made to your credit card, please contact the financial institution that issued your card to initiate the charge-back process.

I paid online and I am wondering about the status of my payment?

You can look up your payment status online, as long as you have your order code and the email address you used for the purchase. If you don't have your order code or the email address you used for the purchase, or if your email address has changed since you made the purchase, please contact us.

I need a receipt for my purchase. How can I get one?

We can provide you with a receipt if you need one. Please fill out our contact form with your name, the serial number of the product you purchased, and the email address you used for the purchase.

I do not have my order code or the email address I used for the purchase. What do I do?

If you do not have your order code or the email address used for purchase, we can assist you. Please contact us and provide as much information regarding the purchase as you can: your name, the product purchased, the exact or approximate date of the purchase, and the type of payment you used. We will send you the information you need to look up your purchase order status online.

My email address has changed since I made this purchase. How can I get my purchase order status?

You will need to contact us in order to change the email address associated with your purchase. Please provide your name, the product purchased, the order code, the original email address used for the purchase, and the new email address. We will let you know when the contact information has been updated so you can look up your purchase order status online.
